About Me
Hi there,
I’m Nicole Walker…
I never planned to start a blog.
For years, I was just the person in my circle who took forever to buy anything. Before I’d spend money on something for my home, I’d read every review, watch comparison videos, check Reddit threads, cross-reference prices, and think about it for probably longer than was reasonable. My friends thought it was excessive. My family learned to just ask me what to buy instead of shopping themselves.
My nephew noticed this more than anyone. He’d sit with me sometimes while I went through my whole process; tabbing between Amazon listings, muttering about build quality and return policies and instead of finding it boring, he found it genuinely useful. One evening he looked at me and said something I didn’t expect: “You should write this stuff down. People need this.”
I laughed it off. I’m not a writer. I’m not a tech person. I’m just someone who hates buying the wrong thing…
But he kept bringing it up. And eventually I mentioned it to my neighbor, who happens to be a web developer. She listened to the idea over a conversation that started on the doorstep and ended an hour later at the kitchen table. A few weeks after that, she’d built this site as a favor; clean, simple, exactly what I needed. She wouldn’t let me pay her. I’m still trying to figure out how to return that kindness properly.
So here we are. Homeverse is nothing fancy. It’s just me, sharing the process I’ve always done privately; researching home products the long way, so you don’t have to. If something makes the list here, it’s because I’d actually buy it, or already have.
My nephew checks in every now and then to see how it’s going. I think he’s more proud of it than I am.
